Dock Street Brewing Company is an award-winning, Philadelphia based brewery and brewpub. Independently founded in 1985, Dock Street was Philadelphia's First Craft Brewing Company, and one of the first Craft Breweries in the country, making us a true pioneer of American-made craft beer.
We are independently owned, family-run, and woman-owned. To this day, countless craft beer drinkers credit Dock Street as the beer that turned them onto small batch, artisanal beer. We’re known as much for our Award-Winning staples like our Dock Street Bohemian Pilsner or Dock Street Man Full of Trouble Porter as we are for our more experimental styles like Dock Street Barracuda, a deliciously tart ale brewed with raspberry and hibiscus. Our name, Dock Street, was chosen in honor of the historical Philadelphia seaport district which was, in the late 1700's, the largest producer of beer in the then-newly-formed country and home to pirates and statesmen alike who sat elbow to elbow enjoying a pint.
Visit either Dock Street Brewery location for a fun, laid-back hang with friends and family and our amazing bartenders! In addition to phenomenal, award-winning beers, you’ll also find craft cocktails with house-made syrups and Pennsylvania spirits (including our very own Vicio Mezcal) at both locations!
We're known to throw a mean party, featuring any and everything from comedy, prose reading, cheese-making, glass-blowing, mezcal tasting and live tattooing.
Check back often for updates like new additions to the menu for game days, parties and holidays, as well as party + event listing.

5.2% ABV 30 IBUs - A liquid nod to the only pre-revolutionary tavern still standing in The City of Brotherly Love. “Man Full of Trouble” was one of Colonial Philadelphia’s first watering holes. This Brown Porter was brewed with the “Old-World” in mind. Black and chocolate malts create its deep mahogany appearance and creamy espresso-like flavor. A blend of English hops lends a delicate earthy presence.
FIRST PLACE, Pennsylvania Farm Show Awards 2022
Double IPA - We're making it reign with this hazy, sticky, double dry hopped, silky smooth, and perfectly balanced DIPA brewed with oats and wheat and chock full of Mosaic, Citra, and Centennial. Strong flavors and aromas of dried apricots, nectarine, and stone fruit. There are lots of big, juicy DIPA's but there can only be one King Juice.
6% ABV 45 IBUs – American IPA - We designed this golden-hued, clear IPA so that hop flavor and aroma are the primary experience. Oats and a touch of caramel malt make for a mouth coating light body balanced with medium bitterness. Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo hops create flavors and aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and just a hint of pine. Can art, featuring a gold doubloon and our trademark anchor, by Philly-based artist Eric Hinkley.
5% ABV 40 IBUs – This classic, Czech-style pilsner has been our flagship beer since 1985! Brewed in the style of the original pilsner beers of Bohemia in a tradition that dates back to 1842. We use pilsner malts and a generous amount of Bohemian Saaz Hops to produce a golden color, soft, nutty malt flavor and floral hop bouquet.
Dock Street Brewing Company was founded in 1985, amidst a proverbial sea of watered down and adjunct-plagued lagers, as one of the first post-prohibition craft breweries in the country - and Philly’s first all-grain brewpub.
Now, we call a former brewery-turned-tile-factory-turned brewery at 22nd and Washington Avenue (Dock Street South) our home, with Dock Street Fishtown, a new taproom that opened in April 2023 anchoring us in Philly’s vibrant Fishtown neighborhood, as well. We’ve come a long way since our first location at 18th and Cherry – 1.6 miles, to be exact – but to this day, countless craft beer drinkers credit Dock Street as the beer that turned them away from yellow-tinged macro-brews and corn-infused light lager.
We’re known as much for our fearless experimental beers like the Dock Street Walker (brewed with goat brains in honor of our favorite show, The Walking Dead) as for staples like our Dock Street Bohemian Pilsner or our Dock Street Prince Myshkin Russian Imperial Stout, one of the highest rated beers out there.
