It’s been a minute since we’ve done a Free Rare Beer drive (thanks, COVID…) but we’re back with lots of passion, given the current state of affairs lately. With so much emphasis on pregnancy, motherhood and parenting, and the well-being of children, and with key rights and protections that benefited all of the aforementioned being stripped away, we want to focus our energy on lending a hand to those in need of diapers and period supplies.

On Tuesday, July 12, drop off a diaper or period gear donation of any size to Dock Street any time (we’re open 4pm-10pm) for a FREE 6oz pour of a special rare beer that Head Brewer Mark Russell is whipping up just for the occasion. Can’t make it on July 12? We’ll be accepting donations through the month of July, but to get your free pour of beer, come by on July 12th.

DONATION GUIDELINES:

Any diapers and period supplies are appreciated. Unopened packages are preferred. Diaper sizes 4, 5 and 6 are most in demand, as well as toddler sizes 2T-5T. Pads, liners and tampons are needed for menstruating folks in need.

Supplies will be donated to the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank, an organization that is partnered with Mighty Writers (a Dock Street favorite!) to bring supplies free diapers, adult incontinence products and period products to Philadelphian’s in need.

What’s the Rare Beer going to be, you ask? We’ll let you know on Tuesday morning over on Instagram at @DockStreetBeer. We can tell you that like all of our Rare Beers for our Free Rare Beer for Supplies Drives, it’ll be, as the name implies, rare - it’s a beer that has never been made by us before and will never be made again, so it’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime brew.

ABOUT THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA DIAPER BANK:

The Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank recently merged with Mighty Writers in an effort to serve more families in need. Mighty Writers and the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank share the same values. Households in chaos due to hygiene needs cannot support youth learning.

The Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank currently partners with over 50 nonprofits in Philadelphia and surrounding areas to get help to families and individuals in need. Through community diaper drives, the organization collects diapers and distributes them to homeless shelters, food pantries, family service agencies, and faith-based organizations. In 2021 GPDB distributed nearly 2.4 million diapers and with your help, can surpass that number this year.
