We’re bringing back our pizza drive for another year after such a great success last year! This drive will begin on November 1 and end on November 22nd.
This Thanksgiving, as we did last year, we want to start the holiday season off right and spread some joy. Join us by sending a Dock Street pizza to families with children experiencing homelessness here Philadelphia - food is love, after all, and there can never be too much of that.
Pay for a large (16”) pizza online right here, and we’ll deliver it to Eliza Shirley House and the Roosevelt Darby Center on Thursday, November 30th as a special post-holiday treat!* Dock Street is committed to matching donations by a minimum of 20%.
We’ll include your name on a printed card, along with any message you want to include (optional).
Our goal is 76 pizzas, between your donations and our match. Help us get there!
Since 2020, we’ve had the pleasure of working with you all to send nearly 500 pizzas and sandwiches to shelters and hospitals throughout Philadelphia, including two visits to the Eliza Shirley House, and it’s something the families (especially the kids!) have really enjoyed. We’re thrilled to do it again for Thanksgiving Weekend!
*If the number of pizza donations exceeds the need at Eliza Shirley House + Roosevelt Darby Center, we’ll pick a second (and third? We’re optimistic!) shelter to receive pizzas. We’re down to match and deliver as much as humanly possibly by our kitchen and delivery volunteers.
ABOUT ELIZA SHIRLEY HOUSE (VIA ESH/SALVATION ARMY)
The Eliza Shirley House (ESH) which is centrally located at 1320 Arch Street has been providing housing for the homeless families and children of Philadelphia for nearly 31 years. The facility has security cameras throughout the building, both inside and out, to enhance resident safety. ESH is a case-managed emergency housing facility with 35 semi-private resident rooms for a capacity of 90 individuals.
Our goal is to ensure families are housed in a safe, secure environment, get help with their immediate needs, are informed about our policies and procedures and made to feel welcome and supported.
