Bring in a donation of a new, unwrapped toy or gift for children and families in need, and we’ll hook you up with a pour of a super special, never-before-made, never-to-be-made-again small batch brew that we whipped up exclusively for anyone that donates. (And did we say it’s free…?)

This year, toy donations will be sent given to the Merakey Foundation. Merakey hosts an annual holiday party (this is the 9th year!) for 500 children and family members at their North Philadelphia facility, which provides outpatient services to children and adolescents with behavioral health challenges. Festivities include arts and crafts, refreshments, and a special visit from Santa Claus to pose for photos and to give out gifts to every child that comes to the party.

Here’s a word from Merakey on why donations are super important this year:

In previous years, toys, games, and stuffed animals were donated by Toys for Tots and other local charities, as well as Merakey employees through local toy drives. This year, however, the need for gifts is critical. Donations from local charities has greatly decreased over the past couple years, and this year’s donations are expected to be much lower. While Merakey employees continue to give as much as possible, the amount of expected gifts will be less than the number of children attending the party.

Drop off a donation any time on Wednesday, December 11th at Dock Street South (or from 5pm-11pm on December 12th at Dock Street Cannery) and toast yourself (go you!) with a free beer. (If you can’t make it Wednesday, no worries - gifts will be taken to Merakey on Friday, December 13th and late donations will not be turned down. We may even still slip you a thank you beer.)
