DHS recommends the following items:

For younger children:

Dolls(a variety of nationalities) Board games, books
Sports equipment basket ball; football; soccer ball

Journals; tote bags watches
Bath supplies; hair accessories, combs/brush
Manicure supplies
Gloves, hats, scarves sets
Poster; paper frames; art work; art supplies
Diapers, baby clothes, baby gift set

Personally, we'd add our own recommendation of books, musical instruments, or anything educational (but still fun, I mean, it's the holidays!) or anything that will make a child happy and improve their lives, even just a little. We'd also suggest steering clear of anything violent - let's avoid toy guns and that sort of thing - no need for that in the world right now, or ever.

During the drive, we'll stream the 1985 movie The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. It's a quirky animation from based on the L. Frank Baum novel of the same name, written in 1902, and it tells the story of how Santa came to be by giving toys to children to combat the negative and evil of human kind, eventually earning immortal status for his undertaking.
