Yes, that’s right Point Breeze - you’re about to get Philly’s best hand-tossed, wood-fired pizza, right here on this side of the river!

Inspired by a trip to Sicily, Dock Street co-founder Rosemarie Certo’s birthplace, our team first started crafting pizza around 2002, when we opened a restaurant called Pizza Rustica at 36th + Chestnut. When we sold that business and opened Dock Street West in 2007, we brought out best recipes over (like our famous Flammenkuche) and based the menu around delicious pizza, plus our patented trio fries and burgers.

We’re not the first or only people to make pizza in Philly, or to pair craft beer with pizza, but there is just something about our ‘za that stands out - the dough, the combo of ingredients (Mellow Yellow, anyone?), and the love and skill with which it’s made, thanks to folks like PJ Freeman, who’s been expertly slinging pizza at Dock Street West for a decade. (!!!)

When we opened Dock Street South last year, our goal was to diversify our business and our offerings, while keeping the same great beer recipes, some of which date back to our beginnings in 1985. But we can’t blame our neighbors for demanded the amazing pizza that we have become known for, so we’re getting back to our roots and our true love, and bringing pizza to South this Fall!

We’re in the process of converting our beautiful and light-filled lounge room into a pizza room (remember those hints we dropped on our Instagram stories?), complete with an oven, prep station, and some seating/leaning/bar space, so guests can enjoy fresh hot incredible pizza feet away from where it’s wood-fired, or take it into the main brewpub to chill, watch games on the projector, listen to live music, play pool, and just enjoy life. (This is all Post-Covid, mind you…But we can hope and dream.)

Stay tuned for more news and updates on social media - we’re aiming to roll this out right-quick, so it won’t be long now.

In the meantime, come by and check out the INCREDIBLE food that our wonderful new chef Cam Waters is whipping up; the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak is a revelation, and his creations will be here to stay alongside pizza.

Or, pregame with some pizza now from Dock Street West:
